WHALE SHARK INFORMATION

The Shark Trust / Project AWARE Whale Shark Project website has an excellent general information section. For a detailed review, the Australian Department of Environment & Heritage has collated most of the scientific knowledge on whale sharks in their whale shark issues paper, and the IUCN Red List assessment is also available online.

MANTA RAY INFORMATION

Andrea is presently updating the IUCN Red List assessment for manta rays to evaluate the conservation implications of the recent split of the ‘manta ray’ into two species, the reef manta ray and giant manta ray.
