Hey there!

I'm very pleased to share MMF's 2024 Impact Report with you - check it out here:

2024 Impact Report

Explore the impact and achievements of the Marine Megafauna Foundation in their 2024 Impact Report, detailing their work in building local conservation capacity, educating future marine conservationists, expanding protected areas, and advancing non-invasive research methods. Many of you have been closely following the significant changes we had to make at MMF through 2024, after my co-founder, Dr Andrea Marshall, suffered a life-changing aneurysm at the start of the year.

We’re very happy that she's continuing to progress with her rehabilitation in Florida, though we deeply miss her regular presence in the office and field.

The outpouring of love and support from all of you, and the global marine conservation community, has been incredible through the year – and we're extremely grateful.

While it doesn't seem that long ago that it was just Andrea and I in a grass shack on the beach in Mozambique, inventing fancy job titles for ourselves, the organization has grown significantly over the past 20 years.

Today, MMF is led by an exceptional team of scientists and conservationists, most of whom have come through our own capacity-building programs.

That hard work by our talented educators, conservationists, and scientists has meant that, despite major challenges, 2024 has actually been an impressive year for most of MMF’s research and conservation initiatives.

It’s great to be able to summarize that work in this report – with bonus pretty pictures!

Also, as a tax-deductible non-profit, we are here to assist with your end-of-year charitable giving in 2024! We have multiple ways for you to make a tax-deductible donation, including credit card, bank transfers and cheques, and we can even accept direct stock and cryptocurrency donations. Your support enables us to continue our vital research and conservation efforts across the globe.

I hope you all have a great holiday with family, friends, and your local ocean wildlife – and a fantastic start to 2025!

Very best,

Dr Simon Pierce
